It is only when the image is worked on in a PP program and then re-edited that the quality of the photo is compromised. Repeatedly copying photos from one computer to another, to CDs/DVDs, to thumb drives, and so on will not result in poor image quality. If you open a JPEG example in photoshop and then save it as JPEG again, it will open and save again. You are not required to save the original pp file instead, save as your pp file and keep the original file. Because re-saving jpeg files has little effect on quality, you can save your photos as jpg if you need to save storage space. When you open a file in a program, the same name may be given to the file, potentially resulting in the data being recompressed and the original file being overwrited. If you copy PSD files from one computer to another without losing quality then why does it lose quality? When you COPY (or transfer) a file of any type (JPG, TIFF, RTF, DOC, or PSD), you do not lose its quality. When working on the JPEG, it should be saved in a lossless TIFF or DNG file to avoid further degradation. It is not necessary to copy the JPEG file simply open and save it again after it has been copied. You can COPY any type of file, including JPGs, TIFFs, RTFs, DOCs, and whatever else you can think of, and the quality of the file will not be compromised. In other words, if you change the parts of the image and re-save it, you can still use it the same way. The Save As dialog box will be displayed.ĭespite the compression, the image still has a loss of compression. To save the image, open Adobe Photoshop and select File. Print should be produced in two file formats: TIFF and PNG. When producing print images, the highest quality images must be used. One of the most significant advantages is that you have more control over the exposure and style of photos. With an intuitive understanding of how RAW works, it can be easily confused with JPEG. Every photographer should be aware of the correct way to photograph. However, reducing the quality of an image can also make the image look blurry or pixelated.ĭoes it reduce image quality by changing the JPEG compression rate? This article is an in-depth explanation of my article 12 Photography Myths. This can be useful if you need to save space on your computer or if you need to upload the image to a website. When you reduce the quality of an image, you are essentially creating a lower resolution version of the image. This can be done by reducing the quality of the image. When you save an image, you have the option to reduce the file size. GIF is best suited for images that are animated. PNG is a newer file format, and it is best suited for images with a transparent background. JPG is the most common file format, and it is generally used for photos. Each of these file formats has its own advantages and disadvantages. The three most common file formats for saving images are JPG, PNG, and GIF. When you save an image, it is important to consider the file format that you are using. It’s a fully functional free note taking system, but there are also templates that you can use if you want or need to. Need to move the text, or item? Simple click on it and it’ll form a box, you can drag it anywhere you need it. Like OneNote you can click anywhere on the notebook to start typing, you can also insert photos, audio, tables and video in. You can change the colors of the tabs to fit your liking and if you don’t like the tabs, you can chose to go without them. One thing Growly Notes trumps OneNote at is that the user interface is customizable. It’s not as convenient, but at least they found an alternative to that feature. Growly Notes uses a ‘floating window’, which is a little window that you can put notes in and it transfers them to scratch paper in the actual program. The one thing Growly Notes is missing that OneNote had was a toolbar option, where you could make a random note and it would automatically import it into the program, under an un-filed notes section. It has the automatic save feature like OneNote, so you don’t have to save after every little note you make, you can close it without the program making a fuss about it. The notebook labels are on the top and the subjects down the sides, it makes them easy to see and navigate through, especially if you need to do so quickly. Tabs are color coded so you can easily find a different section and you can label them. Growly Notes lets you easily create multiple notebooks with different sections in order to keep your life organized. My research turned up Growly Notes it’s a very similar program and has all the features I needed. Since using Growly Notes I have stopped my search for a OneNote alternative. You'll just have to check it out for yourself. There are way too many great features of Growly Notes to mention here. Emailing, printing, sharing, tables, custom stationery, templates, audio message, links, view options, many good fonts and colours, format settings. You can drag and drop practically anything you can think of, from mail, iPhoto, off a web page, a Pages document, etc. Like OneNote, you can label sections and pages within but I find Growly Notes just makes sense better in the way it is set up and the colours used. They are particularly useful for lining up parts of the These two sliders allow you to adjust the position of the oscilloscope's trace on the grid. If you were to change the setting to 10 volts/div, the waveform now only reaches up half of a square. The sine wave has an amplitude of 5V, meaning when volts/div is set to 5, the waveform just reaches the top of the first square. This setting is very similar to the timebase setting described above, but instead of stretching the wave along the x-axis, it involves stretching it along the y-axis. The period (and hence the frequency) remain constant because 8 times 500µs still equals 0.004s. If you change the timebase to 500µs (half of what it started at), you should see the waveform now takes 8 squares to complete one full oscillation. This means that the period of the wave is 4ms, or 0.004s, giving a frequency of (1/0.004) = 250Hz. When the oscilloscope is first loaded, this setting is set at 1ms, and shows one complete waveform over 4 squares. This control allows you to adjust the length of time that each square of the grid represents. A gain of 1 will have no effect, a gain of less than 1 will make the signal smaller and a gain of more than 1 will make it larger. This is a number that the incoming signal is multiplied by. Adjust the timebase to a convenient scale allows you to calculate the frequency of your whistle by counting the period of one complete waveform. This is especially usefulīecause you can still adjust the time base and volts per division setting. This tickbox freezes the input allowing you to effectively take a snapshot of what is displayed on the oscilloscope at a given instant in time. Since waveforms come in a wide variety of shapes, amplitudes and frequencies, oscilloscopes need to have a number of controls to adjust the display of the waveform so it can comfortably fit inside the viewport. (Different microphones send different voltages to the computer, so for consistency we have normalised the input so the raw input signal will always be limited to somewhere between -5 and +5 volts.) This will take data from any microphone connected to your computer and display the live audio data. If you are browsing using the latest version of Google Chrome, the input dropdown box allows you to select "live input". (You can also choose to display a square wave.) The frequency of this wave can be adjusted by using the "Input Wave Frequency" slider. The initial signal above is a 200Hz sine wave, which has an amplitude of 5 volts. In turn, Garland petitioned for more films for Minnelli on MGM's roster, a position that not only suited him and Garland, but also kept the studio happy as as they believed that Minnelli and Garland's continued relationship would prevent her from moving on from MGM at the end of her contract. Nearly 20 years Garland's senior, Garland felt that Minnelli (born Lester Anthony Minnelli) helped bring out a sense of maturity and onscreen elegance in her that the star, tired of playing teenage sweethearts, had craved. Louis debuted, quickly became MGM's highest selling to date, the couple had already started living together. Though Garland had initially turned down a role in the film and, once convinced to take the part, held a contentious relationship with Minnelli during the early days of filming, the two slowly became close over the course of the film's shoot. (Many studio starlets including Joan Crawford and Bette Davis received illegal abortions to avoid the impact that pregnancy and motherhood might have have on their careers.) The couple divorced in 1944. Adding to the hostilities, Rose, along with Garland's mother, forced her to have a secret abortion after the star found out she was pregnant. However, Garland's extroverted nature and Rose's homebody tendencies soon began to create problems in the relationship. Worried that the marriage would tarnish Garland's pristine, youthful image, both her mother and the studio she was under contract with, MGM, objected, but Garland pushed forward with the marriage, tying the knot with Rose in Las Vegas in 1941.
